Why Try?

Why Try?
Romans 15:14-24; 30-31
"Why should I believe that I can make a difference in the world?"

God's gift of grace to Paul was to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. Paul wanted to give God an offering, that is, the Gentiles who had come to faith in Christ through the gospel he preached.

God accomplished great things through Paul by the power of the Holy Spirit. That same Spirit lives in us and empowers us. Paul planned to take the gospel to the unevangelized center of Roman culture. He asked for prayer for his protection as he entered this highly dangerous situation. He also asked for prayer for financial help in spreading the gospel. His third prayer request was that by God's will he could come to them with joy.

Why Try? The early Christians made a difference in the entire Roman Empire even in the most difficult of circumstances. We can make a difference in our world; even if it's just one person at a time.

For whom do you need to pray?

To whom do you need to tell what great things the Lord has done for you?

Ask God to help you make a difference.
